The dental laser
is the latest in modern innovations for the
21st Century. The Erbium Laser has proven
safe and effective for many surgical
procedures, the removal of tooth decay and
cavity preparation. Recently receiving FDA
approval for use in adults and children, the
Erbium Laser offers an alternative to the
high-speed drill, eliminating fear and
patient discomfort.
The laser is
revolutionizing dental care-just as it has
in so many other areas of our lives. With
the Erbium dental laser Dr. Polsky can
provide you and your family with a new
method of dental care, which can often be
performed, in many cases, without injection
of local anesthesia.
Q:
Will It Hurt?
A: Most
patients find laser procedures remarkably
comfortable, in fact, that in many cases no
numbing is required. Patients who have
experienced laser treatment report feeling
nothing more than slight sensation of
warmth.
In Children 95%
of the time numbing is not required. While
Dr. Polsky removes the decayed tooth
material (caries), the laser simultaneously
“numbs” the tooth, therefore reduces the
needs for shots and an uneasy after local
anesthesia sensation.
Most children
will not also feel the vibrations normally
produced by a conventional handpiece.
Most patients
feel very comfortable with minor surgical
procedures such as tongue tie. If laser is
used for such surgical intervention instead
of a conventional scalpel, healing occurs
much faster, the need for sutures is
eliminated, and the post operative
discomfort is so minimal that patients can
resume their normal activities the moment
they walk out of the office.
Q:
What kind
of after-effects can I expect?
A:
The soft tissue dental laser
often eliminates the unpleasant
after-effects associated with many dental
procedures such as soreness, bleeding,
inflammation and stitches. It also create no
known after-effects of it’s own.
Patient Testimonials
“ Both of my children
ages 5 ad 9 had teeth filled via laser and
felt no discomfort at all. It was quick and
they didn’t have to wait for any numbing to
wear off. Dr. Polsky and the staff are so
great with children they put them at ease.
The office is very kid-friendly and I would
recommend them to anyone that’s looking for
a children dentistry.”
Angela
“ My daughter had to get 4 fillings. It took
about 20 minutes and she was finished. I was
amazed! There were no shots, absolutely no
pain involved. I was very happy with the
laser treatment and my daughter was as well.
The staff at Kids Choice Dental make us feel
like we are part of their family when we go
there. My kids actually enjoy going to the
dentist. I highly recommend Kids Choice
Dental, and the fast & painless laser
fillings.”
